Introducing the Portal Designer

The Portal Designer is live in Subscriby 5.0.17. Every project has a portal page where members browse plans, pay and manage what they hold, and until today it looked the same for everyone. From today it is yours: open Portal Designer in your project’s menu, set the presets, the colours, the type, the shape, the layout, the blocks, the wording, the pixels and the stylesheet of the page, watch every change on the real page as you make it, and publish when you say. On every plan, including Free, and on the demo portal for anyone who wants to try it before registering.

Here is the one-sentence version: the page your members pay on now carries your brand rather than ours, and nothing about it changes until you press Publish.

The Short Version

  • Portal Designer, the last entry of your project’s menu, and Customize beside Open Portal: the real page in a preview at desktop, tablet and phone width, with the options floating over it, one section open at a time.
  • Six presets, each with a light and a dark palette: Classic, Dark, Midnight, Paper, Pastel and Bold, a colour mode that paints light, dark or follows the visitor’s browser, and every colour yours to change by hand: the accent, a second accent for the pass strips, the background and its grid, the cards and the text.
  • Twelve fonts served from your portal: a display face and a body face, cut to the Latin letters so a member’s browser never calls a font service; headings in capitals or as written, and a type scale.
  • Shape and layout: corner radii, button shapes and fills, shadows and borders; the sidebar left, right or on top, the page width, plan cards in one, two or three columns, roomy or compact, and a featured plan with a Most popular badge.
  • Your words: ten texts over the built-in wording, from the heading over the plans to the thank-you on the success screen, each shown in every language.
  • Blocks and media: perks, an About card, questions and answers with a one-tap import from Knowledge, a video from YouTube or Vimeo loaded only on play, a gallery of up to eight pictures, up to twelve quotes, a button and a footer of your own, and an announcement bar on a timer, all in the order you drag them.
  • Behaviour and visibility: the coupon box, the Share and Login buttons, a joined-this-week count, the seats-left badge, seventeen share networks, a noindex switch, your own social card, title and description, Meta Pixel, Google Analytics 4, TikTok Pixel and Google Ads tags loaded only after consent, and a 16 KB stylesheet with every selector and variable documented.
  • Everywhere a member goes: the checkout, the membership, account and referral screens, the sign-in sheets and the follow-up page paint from the same palette; the social card and the Smart Links embed follow the design.
  • Draft, preview, publish. Every change is saved into a draft and shown on the real page; nothing a member sees changes until you press Publish, Discard throws the draft away, and a section can be reset on its own.
  • From your Telegram bot too: 🎨 Portal Designer on every project card opens the same sections in the chat, saving into the same draft.
  • Over the API and from an agent: read, change, publish and discard the design and store pictures over REST, through four MCP tools, from Subscriby Copilot, and on Zapier and n8n; every publish raises project.design_published.
  • Try it on the demo portal before you register: the same designer for every visitor, kept in your own browser and never on the server.

Why a Designer

A paid community is a brand before it is a product. The channel has your name on it, the bot speaks in your voice, the welcome message is yours. The page where a member actually pays was the one thing that looked like ours: the same lime, the same grey, the same two fonts for every project on Subscriby. A creator who had spent a year on a look could not bring it to the page that mattered most.

The usual answer is a logo upload and one brand colour. We did not want that. We wanted the page built from your design rather than themed over it, so that a dark palette is dark on the checkout and the sign-in sheet too, the pass strips take your second accent, the social card drawn when the link is shared matches, and the plan cards you embed on your own site start from the same colours. And we wanted the portal of every creator who never opens the designer to stay byte for byte the page it was.

Fourteen Sections, One Page

Open Portal Designer, the last entry of your project’s menu, or press Customize beside Open Portal. The real portal page fills the preview, at desktop, tablet or phone width, and the sections sit in a panel floating over its right edge, one open at a time.

  • Brand: the banner image, the project photo, a tagline and a row of social links, moved here from the project editor.
  • Colours: six presets, the colour mode, the accent, a second accent for the pass strips, the background and its grid, and the card, heading, text and caption colours for those who want them. The designer refuses a text colour that would blend into the cards or the page, naming the two colours, so a blue on blue never goes live.
  • Typography: the display face and the body face from twelve, headings in capitals or as written, and a type scale that steps the whole page one size smaller or larger with its proportions kept.
  • Shape: the corner radius of every card at once, the buttons members press, how far the cards lift off the page, and a hairline border.
  • Layout: the sidebar on the left, on the right, above the plans or under a full-width banner; the page width; a sidebar kept in view or scrolled away; plan cards as a list or in two or three columns, roomy or compact; and which public figures the sidebar shows.
  • Wording: ten texts of yours over the built-in wording; a field you leave empty keeps the ten built-in translations.
  • Blocks, Button & Footer, Announcement Bar, Media: perks, an About card, questions and answers, a second button, the footer links and a line of your own, a strip across the top on a timer, a video, a gallery and quotes.
  • Sections: drag the parts of the sidebar card and the blocks into the order you want, and switch any of them off without losing what is in it.
  • Behaviour, Visibility & Code, Language: the featured plan, the coupon box, the Share and Login buttons, social proof, the share networks, the noindex switch, the social card, the pixels, the stylesheet, and the language a visitor sees first.

Every section is documented option by option, with what is accepted and what is refused, under Portal Designer in the guide.

Draft, Preview, Publish

Every change is saved into a draft the moment you make it and shown on the real page beside the controls. Nothing a member sees changes until you press Publish Changes; Discard Draft throws the draft away, and Reset this section puts one section back to the defaults. A publish is written to your activity log with the sections that changed, and the page, the social card and the embed take the design at once.

Your Own Code, Within Limits

Under Visibility & Code you can add your own Meta Pixel, Google Analytics 4, TikTok Pixel and Google Ads tags by their IDs. Each loads only after a visitor accepts the matching cookies in the notice, and never in your own preview. A custom stylesheet of up to 16 KB is added after the theme so your rules win; every selector and variable the page exposes is listed under the field and in Portal CSS, and a sheet is refused when it loads, runs or escapes. JavaScript is never accepted: a script on the checkout is a script beside your members’ cards.

In Your Telegram Bot

🎨 Portal Designer on every project card of the platform bot opens the same designer in the chat: a home screen that says whether a draft waits and opens the real page with the draft through a ten-minute preview link, then every section as buttons and typed values, colours as hex codes, saving into the same draft the dashboard shows. Start on the phone and finish at the desk. Pictures are added on the dashboard.

Over the API and From an Agent

A project’s design is a contract. Read the published design and the draft, change any of its keys, publish or discard, and store a gallery picture, a quote’s photo or the social card over the REST API, through four MCP tools (get_portal_design, update_portal_design, publish_portal_design and discard_portal_design_draft), from Subscriby Copilot in plain words, and on Zapier and n8n. A preset named among the changes recolours the whole design, a key the document lacks is refused by name, and every publish raises project.design_published with the sections that changed.

Try It on the Demo Portal

You do not need an account to see what the designer does. The demo portal carries the designer for every visitor, opened from a tab on the right edge: every section, every option and every picture, painting the page as you go. Everything you do there is kept in your own browser and never reaches the demo itself; Save keeps it for your next visit, Discard or Reset All brings the demo back.

What Stayed the Same

Every default is the exact look your portal had, so a portal that keeps them is byte for byte the page it was. The banner and the photo moved from the project editor into the designer with your images kept; the Enable Public Metrics switch left the editor, because whether the figures show is the designer’s choice under Layout, and a project that had the switch off keeps its figures hidden. Hiding the Powered by line and a handle of your own stay with Starter and above, as before.

Questions

Which plan do I need?

None in particular. Every section of the designer is on every plan, including Free. Only hiding the Powered by line and a handle of your own stay with Starter and above, as before.

Will my portal change?

No. Nothing changes until you publish a design of your own.

Does the design reach the checkout?

Yes. The checkout, the membership, account and referral screens, the sign-in sheets and the follow-up page paint from the same palette, and the pass strips take the second accent.

Can I add JavaScript?

No, and on purpose. A stylesheet of up to 16 KB, yes; a script on the checkout is a script beside your members’ cards.

Who can change the design?

Whoever may edit the project. The designer, the API and the tools use the project’s own view and update permissions, and every publish is in the activity log.

Make the Portal Yours

Open the dashboard, open a project and press Portal Designer. Pick a preset, set your accent, write the heading over your plans and press Publish Changes.
