What Types of Cookies Do We Use and Why

Each category below lists every cookie our site can set, what it is for and how long it lasts. The categories are the ones the consent notice offers; a category that is not configured sets nothing.

Essential Cookies

The bread and water of the site. They keep you signed in, remember your choices and guard the forms. No consent needed, as nothing works without them.

subscriby_via_{project}Set when you open a creator's Smart Link, so the creator can see which of their links brought you if you join within 30 days. It carries the link's code and the campaign tags on the address, nothing about you.30 days

Analytics Cookies

Our calorie counter. These tell us which pages people read and where they give up, so we can fix the boring parts. They count visits, not people by name.

CookiePurposeLifetime
_gaMain cookie used by Google Analytics, enables a service to distinguish one visitor from another.2 years
_ga_MJ9T7E4DDRUsed by Google Analytics to persist session state.2 years
_gidUsed by Google Analytics to identify the user.1 day

Targeting Cookies

Dessert, strictly optional. They let the platforms we advertise on know that an ad brought you here, so we stop showing you the same one again and again.

CookiePurposeLifetime
_fbpSet by Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to tell one browser from another when measuring our ads.90 days
_fbcSet by Meta when you arrive from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, so the sign-up that follows can be credited to it.90 days

Payment pages are the providers' own; cookies set there are governed by their notices.

Our live support chat is a service we host ourselves; its cookies sit in the essential category above.

How to Manage Preferences and Provide or Withdraw Consent

Users can manage preferences related to Cookies from directly within their own device settings, for example, by preventing the use or storage of Cookies.

Additionally, whenever the use of Trackers is based on consent, Users can provide or withdraw such consent by setting their preferences within the Cookie Banner or by updating their preferences accordingly via the relevant "Manage Consent Preferences" widget, if available.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, the Cookie Banner keeps analytics and targeting cookies off and Subscriby reports nothing about your visit to Meta or Google, whatever you chose earlier.

It is also possible to delete previously stored Cookies, including those used to remember the User’s initial consent, via the relevant browser or device features. Other Cookies in the browser’s local memory may be cleared by deleting the browsing history.

Users can find information about how to manage Cookies in the most commonly used browsers at the following addresses:

Consequences of Denying Consent

Users are free to decide whether to grant consent for non-strictly necessary Cookies. However, please note that Cookies help Subscriby to provide a better experience and advanced functionalities to Users, in line with the purposes outlined in this Cookie Notice. Therefore, in the absence of the User's consent, the Data Controller may be unable to provide related features.
