How to connect PayPal

Sign in to the PayPal Developer Dashboard with a PayPal Business account and create an app; a personal account cannot use the subscription APIs.

Copy the Client ID and Secret for the environment you want, Sandbox for testing or Live for real payments.

In your dashboard open Payment Methods, choose Set Up a Payment Method, pick PayPal and select the matching mode.

Paste the Client ID and Secret, switch the method on and save; Subscriby registers the PayPal webhook for you and emails the project owner if PayPal refuses.

No. PayPal's subscription APIs need a Business account. Upgrading a personal account is free and keeps its history.
Which currencies can I price plans in with PayPal?
Any of the 24 currencies PayPal settles in on Subscriby, among them USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, BRL and MXN. Price the plan in one of them and attach PayPal.
What if a member cancels from inside PayPal?
PayPal's webhook tells Subscriby and the subscription is marked cancelled; access ends when the paid period ends, exactly as if they had cancelled on the portal.
Do I have to set up a webhook in PayPal?
No. Subscriby registers it the first time you save the method, reusing one that already points at Subscriby, and verifies every delivery against PayPal before acting on it.
Can I test with a sandbox first?
Yes. Add PayPal with Sandbox credentials, test the whole flow with PayPal's test accounts, then add a Live method beside it or switch the mode and keys.
