Switching from LaunchPass

Switch From LaunchPass Without Losing a Member

Your Stripe account stays yours; the $29 plus 3.5% becomes a rate you choose

LaunchPass charges $29 a month plus 3.5% of each sale on Premium, on top of Stripe's own fee, and its Basic plan cannot charge members at all. Creators leave for a lower rate at volume, for payment methods beyond Stripe, or for passes, coupons and a recovery program LaunchPass does not have. Because both tools run on your own Stripe account, this is one of the simpler switches; this page walks it through.

What you keep
Your channel, your members, your Stripe account
The same Stripe account connects here through Stripe's onboarding; your payouts keep arriving where they do now.
What changes
The bot, and the products in Stripe
Subscriptions created by LaunchPass run out under LaunchPass; new ones are created here, in the same account.
How long
One billing cycle side by side
A month for monthly plans; yearly members get a longer bridge and the old bot stays until the last one ends.
What it costs
From $0 a month
Free is $0 with a 10% fee, Starter $39 with 3%, Growth $89 with 1%; Stripe's fee applies on both tools.

What you keep

Your channel and its history

Two bot administrators in one channel is normal for the switch-over weeks; members see a new bot name and nothing else.

Your Stripe account

Connect the same account through Stripe Connect. Your payout schedule, your bank, your Stripe dashboard: all unchanged, with new products beside the old ones.

Your prices

Recreate the tiers exactly; a different price on the new bot reads as a price rise in the middle of a move.

Your members' habits

Members already pay by card through a Stripe checkout; the new checkout is a Stripe checkout too, with PayPal, Razorpay, Paystack, crypto and native currency available beside it if you switch them on.

How to switch

  1. 1

Export what your current tool shows you: each member, their plan, what they paid and when their current period ends. The end dates decide when each member buys from the new bot.

  2. 2

Create your own bot, make it an administrator of the same channels, groups and supergroups beside the old bot, and connect it to Subscriby. Nobody needs a new channel; the history and pinned posts stay put.

  3. 3

Recreate your plans at the same prices, then add one bridge plan: renewal off, a fixed length that covers the longest remaining period, and the access-codes-only restriction so nobody can buy it.

  4. 4

Generate one access code per paying member, give the codes a short expiry, and send them in one message that says what is happening: a new bot, the same channel, redeem to keep your access, your next payment goes through the new bot when your current period ends.

  5. 5

Stop new sales on the old tool the day the new bot goes live, so nothing you sell today has to be moved tomorrow. Existing subscriptions run out on their own.

  6. 6

Let the new bot remind the stragglers a week and a day before their old period ends; members who redeemed are already in, members who did not are still covered by the old tool until then.

  7. 7

When the last old subscription has ended, remove the old bot from the channel and cancel that plan. From here the new bot admits, renews and removes on its own.

LaunchPass specifics

  • Same account, different subscriptions

Even inside your own Stripe account, the subscriptions LaunchPass created belong to its integration and cannot be adopted by another tool. They run out; members re-subscribe through the new bot, bridged by a code in between.

  • Cancel in the right place

Stop selling on LaunchPass and let existing subscriptions end on their own. Cancelling them in Stripe by hand cuts members off before their paid period ends.

  • The percentage changes

LaunchPass takes 3.5% on top of $29. Free here takes 10% and nothing monthly; Starter takes 3% for $39; Growth 1% for $89. Above a few hundred dollars a month, Starter costs less than LaunchPass Premium.

  • Slack stays behind

LaunchPass serves Telegram, Discord and Slack. Telegram are available here today, Discord is in development, and Slack is on the roadmap; a Slack community should not move yet.

Common Questions

Read the comparison
01

Can I keep the same Stripe account?

Yes. Connect it through Stripe's onboarding and your payouts continue exactly as before; the new bot creates its own products and subscriptions in it.

02

Will LaunchPass subscriptions carry over?

No. They belong to LaunchPass's integration and run out on their own. A code-only bridge plan covers each member until then, and they re-subscribe through the new bot.

03

Do I need a new channel?

No. Add the new bot as a second administrator of the existing channel and keep everything in it.

04

Can members pay with anything but a card after the switch?

Yes: PayPal, Razorpay, Paystack, Skrill, CoinPayments, CeyPay and the platform's native currency can be switched on beside Stripe, each shown to members whose plan currency it matches.

05

When should I stay on LaunchPass?

When your community is on Slack, or when you want the simplest possible Stripe-only setup and sell little enough that 3.5% is a rounding error. The comparison has the numbers.
